Divorce Mediation
When you decide to proceed with divorce mediation, here is what you can expect:- I'll interview you and your spouse to determine the best strategy for your specific facts and circumstances, as a neutral party (I'm not acting as anyone's attorney, I'm trying to resolve your differences with a mutually agreeable resolution)
- I’ll explain the different procedures, strategies, and benefits of mediation...as well as gather all information - personal and financial
- You and your spouse will benefit from a personalized mediation which applies to your specific situation - no two mediations are alike
- I'll quote you a flat fee for representation throughout the mediation process in the form of a written agreement
- I'll meet with you and your spouse and proceed one of two ways: either conduct the mediation separately (if the parties cannot be productive in the same room) or all in a boardroom setting
- If children are part of the equation a custody mediation will be held with the understanding that an ongoing relationship is going to exist after the mediation - as parents. A parenting plan will be hammered out with both sides jointly constructing it
- During the mediation we will analyze assets and utilize outside experts such as accountants, real estate appraisers and tax attorneys to calculate your family’s true net worth, providing a basis on which to divide your assets
- You and your spouse can elect to have attorneys accompany you to the mediation, I'm more than willing to conduct the mediation with your counsel at your side(s)
- Marriage counselors and therapists are welcome to attend the mediation if the parties deem it to be beneficial and productive
- The ultimate goal is to provide a framework both spouses can live with as they go their separate ways to get on with their lives
